Savor The Moment

This morning I was running late. I woke up late, and was rushing trying to get Dre dressed and ready get both of our lunches ready, and I had to take the garbage out to the curb. I could hear the garbage man coming up the street so I knew I needed to hurry. I went to put Dre in his car seat and he grabbed me and gave me the biggest hug. For an instant I almost pulled away, so that I could get the trash to the curb, but I was stopped. I just let him hug me for as long as he wanted (which was only a few seconds) but it was so precious. I got the trash to the curb just in time for the garbage man to pick it up. On my way to work I thought about what had happened and how in a rush I was. I'm so glad I took those few seconds to hug my little boy because I know they won't last forever!
