Today is Dre's half birthday. Since I don't do updates monthly anymore I thought it would be a good idea to do one now. He has changed so much in the past little while. He has turned into such the little boy. He is not my baby anymore and it makes me sad. I hate that he is growing up so fast, but it is fun to see him learn and do new things. He is our whole world and we love him so much its crazy!
things about Dre at 2 1/2 that I don't want to forget:
*loves Star Wars and gets so excited to see or do anything with it
*loves to watch Batman and sing the song nanananana Batman!
*weighs 28 lbs and is 37 1/2 inches
*just got into stuffed animals like he takes care of them, feeds them, puts them to bed
*plays with his doctor kit and when he is done he tells you "that's better"
*drives his car around the kitchen in a circle so fast. I always think he is going to crash but he steers around things so good
*works out with daddy in the basement gym and when he is done he wipes his brow and says "whoo I'm tired"
*still sleeps in crib and doesn't climb out. He tried it a few times and fell so I think he gave it up
*sleeps 12+ hrs and a 1-2 hr nap
*loves suckers and smarties and asks for one every time we go to a store
*not a big fan of food still but some favorites are:fruit snacks, anything with cheese, veggie baby food, popcorn, juice, basically anything unhealthy:(
*thinks Micheal Jordan clothes are Kobe and when basketball comes on he calls it Kobe
*very loving, gives the best hugs and kisses.
*talks a lot mostly in 2 or 3 word sentences. copies everything you say. My favorite sayings are: stay there (as he puts up the stop sign and runs to get something) it's ok daddy's here, I did it, you hear that, oops sorry, Increbibles (the movie Incredibles) smimel (smile, as he points his camera at you)
*makes the silliest faces
*favorite books: Are you my Mother, star wars, look and find books
*starting to throw fits if things don't go his way. He'll look at me and say No! and hit me. He has become quite familiar with time out
*fights with daddy all the time, light sabers, guns, boxing, football
*likes to ride his bike
*prays every night with me. His prayer goes like this "heavenly Father, thank you for this day, Heavenly Father thank you for this day" so cute to watch him close his eyes and fold his arms
*every night after he brushes his teeth he has to give himself a high five in the mirror. Then when I put him down I have to give him a high five and a hug like 3 times.
*loves to be around other kids, but is good playing by himself too. He shares which I am glad for right now. I hope that doesn't change
*he knows his colors, a few shapes, and most letters and sounds
*loves to draw and he holds the pen/pencil in the right position
*loves to jump on our bed and dance to Matt's Ipod. Daddy will also throw pillows at him and he jumps and falls down
*he has an obsession with making sure his long sleeves go all the way past his wrist. If they pull up at all he says uh oh and has to pull them down. He is even starting to hold them with his fingers so they don't move up
*loves Twinkle Twinkle song and can sing it
That is a lot but I'm sure there is more that I'm leaving out. He is just amazing and we can't get enough of this little guy. He is growing up, but in a way he will always be my little baby boy!
