Camping...our style

Every year the Downs go camping at the Uintas. This year was no different except we got a great campsite that had a ton of pavement for riding bikes. We do not camp, but since we have a condo in Midway and it was pretty close we decided to head up and stay at Midway but go up to the campground on Monday and Tuesday. We got to Midway early on Monday so we went swimming. Dre has been loving swimming and has wanted us to let him go, so my dad got a lifejacket for up at the condo and Dre loved it. He loved being left to float. It took him a little bit to get used to it but soon he got the hang of it and just loved it!

Then we headed up to the campground to meet everyone. When we got up there we went on a little hike to the lake which was super close. It was such a beautiful view. I had to get some pics



While at the lake Matt tok Dre down close to throw rocks into the lake. Dre had a ball doing this! Brody his cousin decided to join in on the fun and I thought they looked so cute with their hats on. They were talking to each other and showing each other rocks. It's so cute to see Dre interact with his cousins.


Then it was time for dinner and smores. I was so excited for Dre to have his first campfire. Matt ended up having to take his mom down to the hospital because she was having chest pain, but I wasn't ready to go because I wanted to see the fire. So Dre and I decided to stay for the night in the trailer since Linda and Kerry would be gone. As soon as they left I realized that I didn't have a lot of things since we weren't planning on staying the night. Mainly Dre's blankie. I knew Dre would not be able to sleep. I tried having him watch a movie but htat just got him wired so I turned it off and he was restless. He wasn't crying but I could tell he wouldn't be going down. All of the sudden I heard a car and knew it was Matt. I was so happy to see him. I actually shed a little tear:) Matt knew that we had forgotten the blanket and he really didn't want us up their alone so he was planning on coming back the whole time. We left and went back to Midway. We went back up their on Tuesday for a little bit and then came back and did some swimming and then headed home. It was a great quick vacation!Grandma had given Dre some plastic coins and Dre kept getting down on the ground like this to play with them
