Merry Christmas 2010

I can not tell you how much I love having a child during the holidays. It makes it so much more fun especially this year. Dre didn't understand it all but he started to get the hang of it. A few weeks before Christmas he started saying ho ho ho which added to the excitement. A few days before Christmas we had the annual Downs Christmas party where we eat and have a visit from Santa. I thought for sure Dre would freak out and come running to me not wanting anything to do with Santa, but boy was I wrong. Santa just happened to come through the door that Dre was standing by. Right when he saw him he said hohoho! and started pointing. It was the cutest thing. Then he followed him around and was ohing and ahhing and saying hohoho over and over. All the little kids gathered around him and Dre was standing right in front of him. I tried to move him so people could take pics of their kids with him but he just threw a tantrum so I left him in front. I'm sure people will not be to happy that their pic will have a little boy's head in the way but oh well. Dre then started touching Santa's bells, and he tried to carry his bag, but it was a little too heavy. Then his name was called and I put him on his lap expecting to have to take him right off, but he just sat their for a minute so I could get a pic. I love the pic to because his little mouth is wide open like what is this man doing! It was a fun night and Dre was the life of the party!!!

Christmas morning was just as expected. Dre was adorable with all the stuff he got. He was like ohhh! over everything. Matt's parents and two younger brothers were able to come out and see Dre right when he walked in. It was nice to have the company. After we played with Dre's toys and opened our presents we had a nice breakfast. Dre got a motorized fourwheeler, elmo stuff, clothes, motorized train set, tee ball set (which he figured out right off the bat) books, laptop, and lots of other things from family. He was definitely spoiled. Then we headed over to my parents house. We were able to talk to Tyler on his mission and open each others gifts. My parents gave me pots and pans which was well over due since the only ones I had were from my roommate in college. Then we went over to Matt's parents house to visit with his whole family and exchange gifts. Dre was a champ the entire two days of fun. He did not fuss once and just went with the flow. He is such a good little boy.seeing what SAnta brought
trying out his four wheeler
getting a hang of how to open a present. he was a pro by the end of it
Uncle Stevie (Dre loves his uncles Steve and JJ)

It has been so nice being off for two weeks. I love spending time with my little family. It's nice too because Matt has my same time off pretty much. He has to go to work for a couple of hours a day and then he is home to play with us. We haven't done too much which is nice because it is fun to just relax. I have been able to catch up on my new favorite show Cold Case. I had like 35 DVRed so that has been fun. We did go to the Dinosaur Museum the other day. Not what I thought it was going to be, but oh well. Dre had fun looking at the dinosaurs and being able to run around. I was able to snag a few pics of this boy. He is fast when he wants to be.
