So Dre has reached a milestone. He is now sleeping in his crib. I know a lot people start their babies in the crib from day one but we had him in a bassinet in our room for the first month. So, two nights ago I moved him into his crib. The first night he slept from 10-5. I woke up at 3 to check on him but he was sound asleep. Then I woke up at 4 again to check but he was still asleep. Then at 5 I heard him cry from the other room. Last night he slept from 10-2, I fed and he was up til 3. Then he slept from 3-7:30. So, if we can keep this up and only get up once at night or sleep from 10-6 eventually I will feel good about going back to work and be able to teach the right way and not be to tired. The only problem with the crib is during the day. His room is really bright so its harder for him to take naps in there. I'm in the process of getting a dark shade to put in his window. I'm just trying to find the right one.
Dre is 5 weeks today. He is so much more alert and awake more often. I can get him to smile a little. Its still not automatic. I have moved him into number 1 diapers. (no more newborn:( He is happy until he gets super tired. He isn't a huge fan of the carseat so I try to make sure he is asleep for most of it. He is so much fun. I love just holding him whether he is sleeping or awake I just love him in my arms. I'll be so sad to go back to work and not spend as much time with him. It's making me want to cry right now.
Another thing going on in our life right now is landscaping our house. It has become more of a headache then we thought. We kind of went about it backwards. We started with the landscaping then went to the fence. When the fence people came they said they wouldn't do it without knowing exact property lines so we had to have a surveyor come. Then we found out we had more land then we thought so we now have to have a retaining wall put in. So, a project we were thinking would take a couple of weeks has turned into a month or maybe longer. It's getting so annoying. We can not wait for the day when we can go into our backyard with our little family and let Snoop run around with no leach and just enjoy. At least until the weather changes!
