Our fun filled July
We have had such a fun month. It started with the 4th which has become one of my favorite holidays. We always gather at Keven and Melissa's for water games, food, and fireworks. Dre loves getting together with his cousins and they always have a blast together. We rented a blow up slide. Dre wasn't a big fan and only went down twice.
We have spent a lot of our days at 7 peaks. I thought this would be the perfect summer to get the pass of all pass because Dre is old enough to do these things and it's before I have another baby to chase around. The past few times we have gone Dre has gotten brave and started to go down some of the slides.
I also thought this would be the perfect summer to go to the 1$ summer movies at Thanksgiving Point. We have gone to a few, but one morning when we got there I saw that Despicable Me 2 was showing at the same time but in 3D. I thought that would be more fun for us (even though it cost me 3 times as much) It was a great movie. We had never done 3D before and that made it that much more special.
Matt got Dre a Tball bat and some wiffle balls. So most every night when the shade is in the back we go outside and throw balls to Dre. He is getting so good at hitting them. We also got bases and he will run all around them for a home run. Matt chases him around the bases and he laughs hysterically because Matt can't get him. I can not wait until he is playing for real. It will be so fun to watch him.
A couple weeks ago I met up with my college girlies. I love them so much and we always have a great time chatting and laughing together.
The past two weeks Dre was in swim lessons. I'm so glad I signed him up for them. He did awesome! He would go right into the water. He listened for the most part to the teacher and he gained so much confidence in the water. I mostly signed him up for them because I wanted him to put his face under water and not be scared of the water. He started doing all that on like day 3 and now when we go swimming he loves to put his face under water. I will definitely be doing swim lessons again.
The other night I met up with my high school friends. It was so fun to be all together. We haven't been together in like 2 years. We had such a fun time. I'm so glad we could get together. They also threw me a surprise baby shower by bringing me some gifts. I thought that was very thoughtful. I'm glad we have stayed in touch and I hope to see them more often then I do. While I was at dinner Matt and Dre did a fire outside and cooked hotdogs and marshmallows. Matt sent me this picture while I was gone and I love it.
A couple days ago we went into Orem for some errands and Matt pulled into Chuck E Cheese as a spur of the moment idea. I was saying we needed to eat lunch so he decided we would eat there and have a fun little afternoon. Dre loved it! I love spending time with my little family. I love when Matt gets these spur of the moment ideas. We always have a great time together. It's so fun to watch Dre have so much fun. I love that we are making so many memories together.
Today is the 24th. Matt woke up with another great idea. We had boondocks passes so we decided to head up there to use them. Like always we had a great time. Since I can't do much I was a bystander but the boys had a blast mini-golfing, race cars, bumper boats, batting cages, and playing arcades to win tickets. They also found a flight simulator and took you on a roller coaster. That quickly became Dre's favorite. Boondocks is a fun place.
Last but not least I am 30 weeks this week. Time is flying. I know that sounds funny being pregnant but because of summer and all the fun things we are doing it is going by to fast. It's kind of mixed feelings because I want to be done being pregnant and hold my little boy, but I don't want the summer to end. This has been the best summer by far since I started teaching. I feel like we've done something everyday. It helps make the pregnancy go by fast. I went to the doctor yesterday and my glucose test came back fine and all my labs are great. I weigh the exact same at this point as I did with Dre. I start going every 2 weeks now. I have been getting really bad braxton hicks every few days. They are painful and they kind of scare me because they hurt and last a couple of hours sometimes. I'm not sleeping that great so I think I might start taking something for that. I still don't mind being pregnant because I love feeling him. I definitely can't do things like I would like. I have been nesting super bad and just feel a need to organize. I didn't have that with Dre so this time around it feels crazy. We bought a big organizing system for the basement and all the toys. I actually like going down there now. I get more and more excited every day to have this little boy in my arms and to watch his interaction with Dre. Dre will be such a good big brother.
