Traumatic Experience

I have to set this up. Our couches meet in a corner with an end table between them. We have a lamp that has a plug into the wall. Snoop likes to go back there and chew his bone. So last night I was just watching tv and Snoop was in that corner chewing his bone. All of the sudden the lamp light goes out and Snoop sounds like he is choking. I jump up and get behind there and realize that he has bit through the cord and it is shocking him. At first I thought it totally electracuted him so I yelled for Matt. Matt came running out and I just threw Snoop at him. I started yelling "he's dying, he's dying" Matt didn't know what had happened and was yelling at me to tell him what happened. All I could do was sit down and cry. I was freaking out! Snoop was yelping at this point. Matt got him calmed down. Finally I was able to tell Matt what happened. He said that he probably just got shocked and was more scared than hurt. I probably scared him too by all my yelling and crying. This experience just proves why I am not a mother yet. I freak out over a dog. I wonder what I would do with a child. WOW! Crazy night!
